DuPont Thermo-Man improves fire safety

After opening its first Thermo-Man facility in Singapore on 18 May, DuPont Nomex is looking to expand its presence in Asia-Pacific militaries.

The first in Asia-Pacific, Thermo-Man is a life-size mannequin with 122 heat sensors to measure the fire protection performance of garments in flashfires at temperatures up to 1,000ºC. 

The system provides detailed analysis on simulated burn injuries and also the chance of survival based on burn exposure.
