Denmark selects artillery, mortars and trucks
The Danish Army is finally getting a boost in capability with orders for modern military equipment some of which have been delayed.
New orders mean that the service will get new artillery systems and mortars for an improved indirect fire capability and trucks for better transport logistics.
Danish defence minister Claus Hjort Frederiksen announced the selection of the CAESAR 155mm/52 8x8 self-propelled howitzer from French manufacturer Nexter in preference to the Soltam ATMOS from Israel’s Elbit Systems to meet the Danish Army’s requirement for a new SPH.
Elbit was the winner of a previous competition, in which both companies
