Czechs buy thousands of small arms
The Czech MoD has announced its intention to procure more than 39,000 assault rifles and pistols for its armed forces.
A spokesperson for the ministry told Shephard that the total estimated investment in these small arms will be CZK2.35 billion ($94 million) excluding VAT. The supplier will be the national company Česká zbrojovka Uherský Brod (ČZUB).
The models chosen are the CZ 806 Bren 2 rifle and two pistol types: the CZ P-10 C (pictured) and CZ P-10 F. These three weapons are manufactured following NATO patterns and will be able to equip Czech units deployed on overseas missions.
