Bushmaster goes Dutch with new order
Thales Australia has been awarded a contract to manufacture six Bushmaster 4x4 vehicles for the Royal Netherlands Army. This order includes five custom-designed medical evacuation variants as well as one infantry mobility vehicle.
The contract is worth A$14 million ($8.8 million) and all will be delivered next year.
Thales stated that this order will benefit more than 60 Australian suppliers, including companies such as Bisalloy Steels, AME Systems, DVR Engineering and KAB Seating.
Dutch firm Visser Horti Systems will be involved in the project too, to create the bespoke ambulance. This company specialises in designing clinical spaces for the Netherlands
