British Army reveals more MIV details, including price tag
Senior UK MoD officials have put more meat on the bones of its proposed sole-source acquisition of the Boxer 8x8 vehicle from Germany, outlining how much it will cost and what the proposed work share could be amongst UK companies.
During a 24 April Defence Committee meeting, Guto Bebb, the MoD’s minister for defence procurement confirmed the proposed cost of the Mechanised Infantry Vehicle (MIV) programme will be in the region of £4.4 billion over ten years.
That figure will include procurement of approximately 500 vehicles with integration of UK specific capabilities, specifically C4I and electronic countermeasure (ECM) equipment,
