AUSA 10: USSOCOM and AFRICOM take lead on MONAX
The US Special Operations Command and Africa Command (AFRICOM) are set to become the first agencies to use Lockheed Martin's MONAX communications system, it was revealed at the AUSA annual meeting on 26 October.
Company officials told Digital Battlespace that Lockheed Martin was currently working up CONOPS (concept of operations) with the US Army's 10th Special Forces Group (SFG) and AFRICOM before equipping them with an undisclosed number of units before the end of the year. It is then understood that evaluation and testing will be carried out in command-relevant theatres.
'They are experimenting with MONAX live at the moment.
