AUSA 10: Raytheon displays new SLAMRAAM platform
For the first time at the AUSA Annual Meeting Raytheon displayed a SLAMRAAM (Surface Launched Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missile) prototype mounted on the new Family of Medium Tactical Vehicle (FMTV) platform.
However, the future of the system, designed to bridge the gap between the low level Avenger system and the medium to high altitude Patriot, is in doubt following a recommendation from the US Army that it be cancelled.
The National Guard Association is lobbying to have Secretary of the Army John McHugh reverse the decision. Gus Hargett, president of the association, wrote in a 22 September letter to
