Anti-tank Kornet for Algeria
A batch of 28 vehicle-mounted Kornet-EM anti-tank guided missile (ATGM) systems is being completed at Russia’s KBP company in Tula, destined for delivery to Algeria.
The Algerian MoD order for the Kornet-EM was placed in July 2014, with the first deliveries slated for the end of this year.
The Kornet-EM system incorporates an automated missile launcher designated as the 9P63-3, installed on a VPK-233136 Tigr-M all-terrain 4x4 vehicle. The system has two launcher units, each with four missiles and automatic reloading system for eight more missiles stored inside the vehicle.
