AAD2014: Countdown for Rheinmetall’s VingPos
The VingPos fire control system for mortars, developed by Rheinmetall, is on display at the AAD exhibition in South Africa for the first time.
A spokesperson for the company told Shephard that since its launch at Eurosatory earlier this year, the system has attracted considerable interest because it is the only one of its kind in the world.
However, he added that eventually the system will be copied and this gives Rheinmetall just a year or two to sign ‘as many orders as possible’ before other similar systems come on the market.
