AAD 2018: Denel launch artillery system for army
Denel showcased its T5-52 155mm truck-mounted gun system at AAD 2018 where company officials confirmed talks were nearing completion with South Africa's defence forces for an acquisition agreement.
The long-range artillery system, which underwent trials in Pakistan, has a range of around 40-57km although this can be extended as desired by customers. It is currently mounted on a Tatra 8x8 truck.
Once an agreement has been reached with the defence services, which the company says is now in the final stages, six systems are anticipated to be delivered within a three and a half year timeframe.
