Upgraded Russian MLRS rocket artillery enters service
Russia is continuing its efforts to improve the defence capabilities in the Siberia region. The Russian MoD announced the delivery of 18 upgraded BM-21 Grad multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) to Artillery Unit 41 of the Combined Arms Army of the Central Military District (CMD) in early January.
According to the Russian MoD, the CMD crews are now preparing the vehicles for commissioning.
The upgraded variants feature increased firing efficiency, more powerful ammunition and the presence of automated guidance, aiming and navigation systems.
The vehicle is also equipped with modern communication systems that allow for uninterrupted and secure radio exchange
