Israel Shipyards looks to Shaldag and Saar for market breakthrough
Although the naval arm of Israel's military is the smallest of its services, recent hydrocarbon finds have focused interest in securing industrial assets inside its EEZ, with upcoming decisions on replacements for existing platforms also looming.
Servicing its own domestic market, Israel Shipyards has also been active in pushing platforms such as the Shaldag Mk II and Mk V (pictured) fast patrol boats to international programmes. The shipyard has manufactured 32 Shaldag patrol craft, across the range of variants, with another two currently under construction.
