USMC orders full rate production G/ATORs
Northrop Grumman has received an order from the US Marine Corps for Lot 6 full-rate production Ground/Air Task Oriented Radar (G/ATOR) systems.
Announced by the US Department of Defense on 7 June, the $958 million contract covers 30 G/ATOR units, spare parts and retrofit kits.
The AN/TPS-80 G/ATOR system provides multi-faceted detection and tracking capabilities to enable the engagement of a wide range of hostile threats; and provides air traffic control capabilities for deployed operations.
Work on the contract will run through to January 2025.
