ADS-B Out software for NAVAIR aircraft
Rockwell Collins has implemented Automatic Dependent Surveillance – Broadcast (ADS-B) Out software on three Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) aircraft platforms, the company announced on 6 November.
The software has been integrated on NAVAIR C-2A, E-2C and P-3C aircraft.
The installation of the certified software brings these aircraft into compliance with the upcoming ADS-B Out mandates required by the end of 2019.
The initial software has undergone flight testing and was confirmed production-ready without any adjustments required.
This integration and implementation paves the way for other platform certifications with similar transponder types such as the C-130 and C-5.
