RDECOM demands back-to-basics integration approach
The director of the US Army's Research, Development and Engineering Command (RDECOM), Maj Gen Nikolas Justice, called for a 'back-to-basics' approach to systems integration at the Interoperable Open Architecture conference on 28 October.
Addressing delegates in London, Justice said defence departments and industry alike required systems thinking outside the box. 'Collectively as a group, we need to back-up, look up the basics and get back-to-basics,' he stated while outlining four principles of integration: autonomy, belonging, connectivity and diversity.
