French Air Force receives light recce aircraft after slight delay

The French Ministry of the Armed Forces has received its first ALSR light surveillance and reconnaissance aircraft.

The ministry received the aircraft on 31 July 2020 from Sabena Technics and Thales. A pair of ALSRs were ordered in June 2016.

The ALSR is a Beechcraft King Air 350 aircraft fitted with an array of ISR equipment. Sabena Technics modified the aircraft with Thales providing the ISR systems.

Under its 2014-2019 Military Programme Law (LPM), France intended to receive the first aircraft in 2019 with the second in early 2020. The ALSR programme is experiencing a slight delay and it was not
