NIWC Pacific calls on industry for Seabed to Space
The Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Pacific in San Diego issued an online presolicitation notice to industry on 4 August, for development, technical, management, and engineering services on the Seabed to Space project.
This USN programme is intended to ensure reliable and secure communications and surveillance for deployed warfighters in contested environments, while also fielding advanced capabilities to stay ahead of adversary threats.
The final solicitation for the project will be released on 30 August 2020 at the earliest.
NIWC expects to award multiple contracts to industry with three-year ordering periods (plus two-year options), covering algorithm development; data processing hardware and software provision; maintenance and repair; ISR systems engineering services; and cyber security.
ISR activities may include CBRN technologies related to unmanned systems, NIWC Pacific added in its presolicitation notice.
Work will be performed worldwide on USN and Coast Guard vessels, either at sea or in port.
