MBDA delivers first PCP, IMCP systems
MBDA delivered the first Improved Missile Control Post (IMCP) and Platoon Command Post (PCP) air defence command and control systems to an unnamed export customer in December 2014.
The remaining systems covered under the order will be manufactured over the next two years. These IMCP and PCP systems will be the first air defence sections that enable the operation and coordination of VL MICA and Mistral systems.
The PCP can be used for command and control of multi-layered surface-to-air units, offering an interface with systems and other sources that coordinate air space and with other PCP modules in neighbouring zones. The IMCP module features the latest 3D radar with an aerial target detection range of up to 80km, offering target detection, identification and tracking functions for the PCP.
The combination of both these systems will allow greater flexibility in adapting the kind and number of effectors to meet the requirements of a particular mission or threat.
