UK Joint Force to transform ISR

The UK Joint Forces Command (JFC) has a desperate need for a layered and more integrated intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) systems.

JFC commander, Gen Richard Barrons said at the Defence Geospatial Intelligence conference London on 18 January that if the UK wants to be able to stay ahead of future adversaries a layered ISR system is required.

‘What nobody is selling me is a connected system where we can start in space…can run down to pseudo satellites…through to a mix of manned and unmanned airborne surveillance, then surface whether on land or at sea then down to subsurface. We will then connect that network
