Harris wins NAVAIR radar contract
The US Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) has awarded an eight-year, single-award IDIQ contract to Harris to supply its precision approach radar (PAR) to the country's army, air force and navy, the company announced on 17 May.
The contract, which has a ceiling value of $96 million, will see Harris supply its PAR systems to upgrade the military's air traffic management and precision approach capabilities. The new systems will mark an upgrade to current tri-service critical radar infrastructure.
Ed Zoiss, president, Harris Electronic Systems, said: 'Harris military precision approach radars combine considerable technical capability with high levels of reliability and affordability.
'This blend of cutting-edge technology and dependable performance makes Harris the leading supplier of PAR systems to US and international military customers.'
Harris PAR systems are currently used by the US military and over 20 ally nations.
