Gladius looks to future technology
As the fourth batch of Germany’s Gladius soldier system is prepared for delivery next year, additional capabilities are being developed.
In addition, Rheinmetall, which makes the system, has announced an order from an un-named Middle East/North African customer.
Next steps for improving the system include integration of sniper detection into Gladius’ acoustic and optical display as well as other new technologies.
A sniper detection system will allow a threat report with its detected position to be automatically created and displayed and the acoustic warning sound to be transmitted through the Gladius headset. All threat reports can be displayed as tactical
