France invests in advanced ELINT aircraft

The French Armed Forces will acquire three new strategic intelligence aircraft as part of a programme launched by the French Ministry of Armed Forces to deliver a Universal Electronic Warfare Capability (CUGE).

The programme, officially launched on 28 February, will see the acquisition of three new electronic intelligence (ELINT) aircraft based on the Dassault Aviation’s Falcon Epicure.

A new sensor system developed by Thales will be integrated onto the ELINT aircraft.
