Farnborough 2018: Elbit's reality for civil avionics onboard military platforms

Elbit Systems has identified a growing market for civil avionics systems in military aircraft, with the products forming a key focus for the Israeli company at this year’s Farnborough International Airshow.  

The recent acquisition of Universal Avionics Systems Corporation (UASC) expanded the company’s offerings in the area, said Dror Yahav, VP for commercial aviation. For example, its product line now includes UASC’s Flight Management Systems, Primary Flight Display system and communications systems, alongside Elbit Systems’ own Enhanced Vision Systems (EVS), Head-Up Display (HUD) and wearable HUD products.

Many of UASC’s and Elbit Systems’ commercial products have already been integrated onto military aircraft,
