DSA12: Elektrobit set to deliver enhanced IP phones

Elektrobit is set to deliver enhanced versions of its Tactical IP Field and Desktop Phones to an undisclosed customer in the second half of this year.

Ari Immonen, international business development, defence and security at the company told Shephard at DSA 2012 on 19 April: 'We have developed a new plastic version, rather than aluminium, and it now weighs less than 2kg.'

'We are also upgrading the user interfaces,' he said, and the systems are currently undergoing testing.' The original versions are in service with the Finnish Armed Forces.
