Controp Precision Technologies will supply its iSea-40HD to the Vietnamese Navy under a contract announced at Defense & Security 2017 in Bangkok, Thailand.

The iSea-40HD maritime EO/IR payload will be used for safety and surveillance operations by the navy. Controp will begin delivery in 2018.

This is a follow-on to an order placed three years ago.

The iSea-40HD maritime EO/IR payload, weighing 29kg, has a thermal camera with continuous optical zoom, a full HD day camera, four gimbals for high stabilization, and an optional laser pointer and laser range finder.

Along with the rest of the iSea family, the system is designed for coast guard and naval surveillance/observation applications, and can interface with NMEA0183 radars to slew the EO/IR camera to the detected target.

Hagay Azani, VP marketing and sales, Controp, said: ‘We are pleased that the Vietnamese Navy once again selected us to supply the marine payloads as a follow-on order – a testament to their high level of satisfaction. We thank them for the close cooperation over the years, and believe that this cooperation will expand to include additional projects in the future.’
