Comtech to continue BFT-1 support
Comtech Mobile Datacom has had a contract option exercised for the US Army’s Blue Force Tracking-1(BFT-1) programme, the company announced on 17 July.
BFT-1 is a battle command, real-time situational awareness and control system. With this new order, the company will continue to perform engineering services, satellite network operations and programme management.
The option has an overall potential value of around $8 million. Including this new order, the company has received overall funding of $5.9 million to date.
The option period will end on 14 April, 2019, and the contract provides for three additional twelve-month option periods.
