Augusta Systems and Rolta partner on security and defense projects
Augusta Systems Inc., a provider of technologies that power the intelligent convergence of devices, systems and networks, has partnered with Rolta, a leading global provider of information technology solutions, services and software. Through the partnership, Rolta will resell Augusta Systems EdgeFrontier middleware for use in security, defense and other geospatial applications where sensor integration and fusion are essential elements in providing situational awareness.
"Security and defense agencies have found EdgeFrontier to be the ideal platform for building and managing applications featuring data and control functions from diverse devices and systems," said Patrick Esposito, president and chief executive officer of Augusta Systems. "These EdgeFrontier capabilities, coupled with Rolta's expertise in information technology and systems engineering, will result in dynamic results for clients. We're pleased to partner with Rolta to advance critical security, defense and geospatial solutions."
The reseller agreement follows successful prior collaborations between Augusta Systems and Rolta on international public safety and homeland security projects. Augusta Systems EdgeFrontier provides Rolta and its clients with a platform for integration and normalization of data, events and control functions from diverse devices, systems and networks, including those for public safety, port and border security and defense, such as cameras, video management systems, threat-detection sensors, registration and tracking systems, emergency management communication systems, geographic information systems, alert and notification systems and others. EdgeFrontier also enables remote, localized event or policy-based processing of data and events. This technology pushes intelligence beyond the data center, throughout the network infrastructure.
"Real-time sensor information management is a major challenge in providing robust situational awareness during both normal operations and crisis periods, when the amount of raw sensor data can become overwhelming. EdgeFrontier enhances Rolta's capability to rapidly build flexible, configurable systems to intelligently process, integrate, and control sensor networks. Rolta's clients will indeed benefit from our partnership with Augusta Systems as we work to make our world more secure and safe," said John Halsema, Rolta Senior Vice President, Public Safety and Homeland Security Solutions.
