Virtual training to avert readiness crisis

Increased use of virtual training will assist the US military avert a readiness crisis as well as reduce costs by an estimated $1.7 billion over the next five years, according to a report conducted by the Government Business Council (GBC). 

While the withdrawal from Afghanistan is still relatively fresh, the US military has the evergreen issue of considering how best to prepare for future conflicts, the report said.

The main challenges include coping with a more diverse set of actors across unstable and dynamic theatre landscapes.
