SO/LIC 2019: US DoD unveils prototyping guide
The US DoD, which has been pushing to develop more equipment prototypes to cut through its acquisition bureaucracy and speed up modernisation, has put together a new tool to help it achieve its goal.
The ‘DoD Prototyping Guidebook,’ released in December 2018 by Pentagon research chief Michael Griffin’s emerging capability and prototyping office, is designed to help department staff pursue prototyping projects.
The 42-page document ‘attempts to capture and consolidate the approaches, best practices and recommendations that Department of Defense (DoD) components have used for decades to plan and execute prototyping projects for the DoD,’ according to a Defense Acquisition
