SAS 2016: Kinetic generators unveiled – but concerns remain
The US Marine Corps (USMC) Expeditionary Energy Office unveiled the latest models of its kinetic energy knee generators at the Sea-Air-Space exposition in Washington DC.
Rough pre-production models of the generators were displayed earlier this month at the service’s expeditionary energy demonstration at Camp Pendleton, California.
However, the newer designs, which were exhibited during the exposition, showed a number of cosmetic and design improvements.
Meanwhile, across the SAS exhibition hall, USMC representatives for the Marine Expeditionary Rifle Squad (MERS) effort highlighted their own exploration of the effects of new individual combat equipment with a video showing individual marines completing combat
