Saab staves off COVID-19 complications to deliver first UAE GlobalEye

The first of three GlobalEye multirole Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) aircraft has been delivered by Saab to the UAE, in a move made possible by the manufacturer implementing a series of COVID-19 operational 'mitigating actions' during final pre-customer tests and checks in Sweden.

The on-schedule delivery follows an initial contract signed by Saab and the UAE in 2015, with the pair still in final stage negotiations, for an additional two aircraft - first revealed at the 2019 Dubai Airshow.
