Raytheon announces Aegis contract
Raytheon has been awarded a $365.85 million, cost-plus-fixed-fee, fixed-price-incentive contract from the US Navy to provide components for the Aegis weapon system, the company announced on 3 June.
Components include Aegis weapon system AN/SPY-1D(V) radar transmitter group, missile fire control system Mk 99 equipment and associated engineering services.
The contract includes options that, if exercised, bring the contract value to $423.06 million.
The order includes purchases for the US Navy as well as foreign military sales to Japan and South Korea. Work is expected to complete by October 2022.
Both Japan and South Korea requested Aegis equipment from the US government in 2015.
