Paris Air Show: Future fighter hard sell undermined by soft detail

Two fighter jet mock-ups unveiled in a matter of minutes at Le Bourget, emboldened by the presence of political figures including French President Emmanuel Macron, left many at the Paris Air Show to react with a degree of skepticism.

This feeling was echoed by social media judgement that, while not a scientific tool upon which to base these things, is nonetheless a real-time medium and posited that the sixth generation Future Combat Air System (FCAS) was nothing special, more or less a variation on the F-35 or F-22.
