Paris Air Show: FCAS takes centre stage as fighter talk peaks

As with the last edition of the Farnborough Air Show where former UK defence secretary Gavin Willamson presented the UK’s future fighter Tempest concept, France mirrored the move at this year’s Paris Air Show with a brief ceremony unveiling a mock-up of FCAS – the sixth-generation future combat air system.

France, Germany and, officially as of 17 June, Spain are all partnered on the aircraft’s development, that upon breaking cover aesthetically drew comparisons with the Lockheed Martin F-35, sporting a grey livery complete with slender body, prominent nose and traditional wings.
