Opinion: South Korea – the next big defence exporter?
In terms of Asian defence companies, China is clearly the big-hitter. The International Institute of Strategic Studies (IISS) recently published research listing three Chinese companies – China South Industries Group Corporation, AVIC and Norinco – as being among the world’s top ten defence suppliers. Furthermore, China has seven companies in the world’s top 20, according to the IISS.
