Japan warns of Chinese aggression

In a thinly veiled warning to China, Japan's prime minister Shinzo Abe used his keynote speech at the Shangri-La Dialogue to call for all parties in the region to commit to the principles of international law in resolving conflicts.

'All countries must observe international law,' Abe began, in a speech that used the phrase repeatedly. He said that all countries in the region should seek to ensure freedom of navigation and overflight stretching from the Indian Ocean to the whole Pacific Ocean.
