IDEX 2021: Kornet-E set for assembly in Jordan
Jadara Equipment and Defence Systems expands its activities in anti-tank weaponry.
Saab signed more agreements with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) during the IDEX 2021 international defence exhibition in Abu Dhabi.
Agreements signed on 21 February with the Tawazun Economic Council and Tawazun Technology and Innovation include local R&D of sensor systems and participation in the UAE government-backed Sustain and Enhance Emiratization in Defence and Security (SEEDS) programme to help develop an Emirati skills base.
Saab already holds a 49% stake in a JV with Tawazun called Abu Dhabi Advanced Radar Systems. It was established in 2013 as a local radar capability centre for development, production and maintenance of military radar systems.
On 17 February, the Swedish company also announced its first product developed in the UAE. The Rugged Camera Module-Infrared (pictured) is designed specifically for driver vision enhancement and improved situational awareness.
