D&S 2013: UK looks to reinvigorate Thai ties
After a period of neglect, the UK is looking to bolster its military and defence industrial ties in Thailand as part of a wider strategy of re-engagement in the region.
The UK’s military delegation at Defence & Security 2013 was led by the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen Nick Houghton, who told Shephard that the UK would be appointing a defence attaché to the kingdom for the first time in six years. Defence attaches are also being appointed to other vacant posts in embassies around the region.
