Germany to send WS-61 Westland Sea King helicopters to Ukraine
Germany has committed to sending Ukraine six of its 21 retiring WS-61 Westland Sea King multirole, amphibious helicopters.
Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) has signed development contracts for both its Light Armed Helicopter (LAH) and Light Civil Helicopter (LCH) programmes, propelling both project forward.
Signed on 25 June, the two contracts with the Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) and Korea Evaluation Institute of Industrial Technology (KEIT) – for the military and civilian types respectively – were worth a combined KRW1.6 trillion (US$1.4 billion).
KAI’s statement declared, ‘KAI will design and build the LCH and LAH using the Airbus Helicopters’ H155 platform to ensure the safety, the reliability and the stability with a reduced risk.’ This selection was made in
