Sikorsky to tie up new CH-53K LRIP lots

The US DoD and Sikorsky are currently engaged in negotiations for a second/third low rate initial production contract for the CH-53K King Stallion heavy-lift aircraft, with an agreement expected to see between 12-14 aircraft procured.

A target date to close the deal was not provided by Sikorsky, but a spokesperson said in a statement to Shephard that the contract, ‘is important to our supply base and is critical to driving affordability contributions from our suppliers into future lots’.
