Germany to send WS-61 Westland Sea King helicopters to Ukraine
Germany has committed to sending Ukraine six of its 21 retiring WS-61 Westland Sea King multirole, amphibious helicopters.
Two nations that have dominated the military helicopter headlines in the latter half of 2017 are Russia and India.
Russia saw numerous orders for new and upgraded platforms while India is trying to bolster its ageing helicopter fleets, although this effort has been marked by delays.
Throughout the second half of 2017 Russian Helicopters has been clocking up orders and deliveries. Its Ka-226T underwent flight testing in Iran while the Russian MoD was set to receive its first batch of Mi-28UB helicopters in November. The aircraft is a combat training version of the Mi-28NE Night Hunter.
