Quad A 2018: Lockheed's PDAS ready for debut

Lockheed Martin will debut its Pilotage Distributed Aperture System (PDAS) later this year as part of Bell's V-280 Valor tiltrotor flight testing.

During the Army Aviation Association of America's annual conference, Lockheed Martin's VP for sensors and global sustainment Paul Lemmo discussed with Shephard  the PDAS development.

Under PDAS, the company created a distributed aperture system where five or six EO/IR cameras are spread around a helicopter. The data is then fed into a processor to provide pilot's with enhanced situational awareness.
