Germany to send WS-61 Westland Sea King helicopters to Ukraine
Germany has committed to sending Ukraine six of its 21 retiring WS-61 Westland Sea King multirole, amphibious helicopters.
Orbital ATK details flares contract modification
Orbital ATK has received a contract modification from General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems to supply illuminating flares for the Hydra-70 rocket, the company announced on 22 January.
Under the contract, Orbital ATK will provide a suite of illuminating flares that deliver tactical illumination in both the visual and infrared spectra.
The company received an initial production and first article test contract as well as a follow-on order in 2017.
The Hydra-70 illuminating flare are designed to be fired from a variety of rotary and fixed-wing platforms, including the US Army Apache, the US Marine Corps Cobra attack helicopter, as well as the US Air Force F-16 Fighting Falcon and other combat aircraft.
