Germany to send WS-61 Westland Sea King helicopters to Ukraine
Germany has committed to sending Ukraine six of its 21 retiring WS-61 Westland Sea King multirole, amphibious helicopters.
Lockheed Martin has closed its acquisition of Sikorsky Aircraft, aligning it under its Mission Systems and Training (MST) business segment.
Sikorsky Aircraft will now be known as Sikorsky, a Lockheed Martin company. The acquisition expands Lockheed Martin's core business into the areas of helicopter sustainment and production.
With the acquisition complete, Dan Schultz has been named president of Sikorsky. Schultz led Lockheed Martin's integration efforts leading up to the closure of the acquisition, and was previously the vice president of the ship and aviation systems line of business within the MST segment.
Sikorsky will retain its Stratford, Connecticut headquarters.
