Heli-Expo 2013: AgustaWestland bullish about the future

AgustaWestland dampened down any question of wrong-doing in relation to the Indian government’s purchase of 12 AW101 VIP helicopters, as its new CEO fronted up to the media for the first time.

Daniele Romiti formally began as CEO on 28 February after the former CEO Bruno Spagnolini stood down in order to deal with allegations of bribery relating to the purchase.

The Indian government has suspended further payments and aircraft deliveries, and is seeking further clarifications from the helicopter manufacturer. Three of the 12 aircraft have already been delivered.
