Canada extends life of Griffon, Cormorant

As it contemplates not having a fully-operational CH-148 Cyclone maritime patrol helicopter until ‘sometime in the next decade’, Canada is moving ahead with life extensions of its current fleet.

One of the last remaining operators of the Sea King, Canada has now taken delivery of six CH-148s as it builds towards a total force of 28 Cyclones to take over the maritime mission, according to Brigadier General Todd Balfe, Director of Air Readiness, Royal Canadian Air Force.
