AUSA Aviation 2010: Army to fast track search for Kiowa replacement

The United States Department of Defense is looking to fast-track its analysis of alternatives (AoA) process as it searches for a new Armed Aerial Scout (AAS) to replace the US Army's OH-58D Kiowa Warrior fleet.

Speaking at the Association of the US Army's army aviation symposium in Washington DC on 6 January, the commanding general of the Aviation Centre of Excellence at Fort Rucker, Major General James Barclay, said the AoA for the AAS programme was currently underway.
