Apache to fire Brimstone this year

The first firing of a Brimstone missile from a Boeing AH-64E Apache is planned for later this year as part of a feasibility study funded by the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD), MBDA officials have confirmed. 

Live fire trials are expected to take place in the US on a Boeing test aircraft, potentially in the third quarter of 2016. The main focus of the study is adapting the AH-64E Apache’s fire control software and configuring it so it can fire the dual-mode missile.
