AAD2014: Rosoboronexport success despite sanctions

Russia’s state-owned defence equipment export company Rosoboronexport has achieved exports of more than $38 billion in 2013-14 and has not been affected by western sanctions.

Speaking at a press conference at the AAD exhibition in Pretoria, Anatoly Isaykin, director general of Rosoboronexport, told reporters that although they had ‘experienced some one-sided sanctions declared by one country, the USA’, the period under sanctions had seen exports to other countries increase.

He said that in 2013-14, Rosoboronexport had seen exports of $38.7 billion which were ‘the highest figures in recent years’ and furthermore with their export portfolio, Isaykin does not expect
