Tie-up strengthens Spanish input for European programmes, say Tecnobit and UAV Navigation
Tecnobit-Grupo Oesía and UAV Navigation have signed a strategic collaboration agreement, with a view to augmenting the Spanish contribution to major European military aviation developments such as the New Generation Weapon System/Future Combat Air System (NGWS/FCAS) , as well as the SiRTAP and EUROMALE UAV programmes.
In terms of NGWS/FCAS project ‘a significant improvement is obtained in the positioning of Tecnobit-Grupo Oesía and UAV Navigation in the project, which they have to date approached independently’, the two companies noted on 15 September.
Both companies argue that they offer complementary capabilities: UAV Navigation for guidance, navigation and control of unmanned aircraft, and Tecnobit in avionics, optronics and secure tactical communications (for example, it provides onboard electronic systems for the Eurofighter Typhoon).
Tecnobit and UAV Navigation also see the strategic partnership as ‘an opportunity to increase the value of their solutions by leveraging their diverse capabilities’ to create new and more competitive products.
